Burn, baby, burn …

Last weekend I made a little stove out of an old can. Building such a stove was something I wanted to do since a long time, and now … finally … I made it. 🙂

I took an old can and made some holes approximately one centimeter above the bottom. After that I took the grill plate from the famous Bushbox (it has the perfect size), made a slot for the plate and pushed the plate in it. As a result the oven got a second floor with lots of little holes in it. (They are important for the air circulation, the so-called chimney effect – similar to a real oven.) Finally I made some holes above the plate slot – and the stove was ready to use. I was quite exited how it would turn out. 🙂

A few branches and a piece of birch bark were easily collected, and so it wasn’t long before the fire was ignited. I was hoping that the chimney effect would do great – and it did! 😀

It was a lot of fun to build these little stove. And it was pretty cheap – for the can (pea soup, by the way … ) I had to pay 2 €, the other material I had at home, and some branches I found in the woods.

I guess this nice little heater is perfect for roasting some marsmallows. 😀 What do you think?
